Prior to WMCA, José spent 30 years’ in Automotive, within various design engineering, product development and managerial roles; finally heading the creation of strategic partnerships and programmes, required to grow the skills for an increasingly Autonomous, Connected & Electrified motorcar. The Productivity & Skills Directorate focuses on inclusive growth - more local jobs and more local people benefitting from jobs. Working closely with the region’s universities, colleges, training providers and stakeholders, so training matches employer’s skills needs. José’s current role leads on securing regional employer buy-in, for the effective delivery of WMCA’s productivity, skills and employment objectives. The aim is to drive an ever more prosperous West Midlands for those who live and work in the region.
