Summary: 

Mick Donovan joined the University of Worcester in 1999 with a strong background in coaching and teaching. So far at Worcester he has pioneered the Learning Through Sport programme that has received national and international recognition and has also played a significant role in developing international educational links with many prestigious educational partners throughout the world. He has led several fundraising initiatives and played a leading role in the creation and development of the award winning University of Worcester Arena. This facility is Britain’s first indoor sports arena, purpose designed to include the wheelchair athlete and also regularly hosts a wide range of international sports tournaments and business events. Significantly, the Arena is widely used by students for learning and teaching activities, engaging several academic disciplines cross university. Mick also oversees the developments and growth of the University’s extensive sports facilities.

Mick is the founder and managing director of the Worcester Wolves Basketball franchise and the co-founder and director of the Severn stars netball superleague franchise.

He is also currently leading the work on the Community Forum on behalf of the University.
