Work on a £1 billion pound programme of investment in the borough is gathering pace and a number of key projects have started on site in Dudley town centre.
The regeneration of the borough won’t come without disruption, so the council is urging residents, commuters, tourists and local businesses to start to think about how they could change their commute whilst works are in place.
Several projects are planned for the borough over the next few years, and some developments will be underway alongside each other. The Metro extension will require roadworks in both Brierley Hill and Dudley town centre, meaning people will need to use diversions during certain times. Dudley Council is committed to communicating with people across the borough throughout this period, and will work hard to minimise disruption as much as possible.
Whilst it will be a difficult time for local people, this period of disruption will pave the way for a brighter Dudley, bringing better opportunities, greater transport links and a more attractive place to live, work and do business.
