RECRUITMENT

A bostin’ opportunity!

If you are passionate about community in Dudley and keen to shape and influence change, why not consider joining one of our new groups?

The Dudley Neighbourhood Board is leading the delivery of £20m Government funding under the Pride in Place programme for Dudley. This is a 10-year programme where money will be invested in response to local need and opportunity.

The Board is now well established and we’ve had our plans agreed by Government so we’re starting our delivery phase.

This is a really exciting programme but is also really significant so we want to build our capacity and make sure we continue to be well rooted in and responsive to community.  So we’ve set up four committees to work with the Board to take the programme forward:

  • small projects committee;

  • neighbourhood projects committee;

  • strategy and risk committee; and

  • communication and impact committee

and we’re now looking for people who can invest some time, creativity and enthusiasm in working alongside the Board to support and shape investment in the area.

The roles are voluntary, just like the Board, and more information about each can be found in the information packs.  While we’re currently seeking two members for each committee this may change and grow as we go.

So, whether you’re passionate about small but mighty grassroots projects, excited by large-scale interventions, have an eye for planning and detail, or have an aptitude for communication there’s an opportunity to get involved.

Find out more about the Board and the PiP programme here.

Deadline for applications: Monday 10 August at midday.  Expressions of interest to be sent to prideinplace@dudley.gov.uk

Dudley Neighbourhood Board

Dudley Council has set up a new Board to manage the establishment and operation of the Dudley Town PfN programme, as a progression from the previous Town Board. Government requires the new Board to be fit for purpose (as a community led initiative) and to focus on the three goals.

Dudley Council will be engaging with community groups during the coming months and that may lead to additional representation on the Board, as well as possible sub-groups at a level below the main Board, to help prepare and deliver the new Neighbourhood Plan.

More information on Dudley Neighbourhood Board is available on the Dudley projects page.
