PLAN FOR NEIGHBOURHOODS
People who live and work in a defined boundary area of Dudley borough set by government will see up to £20 million of investment over the next 10 years.
Running from the Priory to Dudley Wood, and incorporating Dudley town centre, the locality is one of 75 in England that will benefit from the central government’s ‘Plan for Neighbourhoods’ programme.
The funds will be managed by Dudley Neighbourhood Board, which comprises community groups, community representatives, politicians, the police, anchor institutions and businesses operating in the area and is closely supported by Dudley Council.
Money can be spent on a wide range of things aligned to three goals of the programme: thriving places, stronger communities and taking back control. Identified themes cover public spaces, high streets and heritage, housing, skills, employability and business growth, community cohesion, health and wellbeing, transport, safety and security, families, and early years and education.
People who live and work within the boundary are being asked to take part in a survey, the outcomes of which will be vital in developing plans for how and where the £20m funding is allocated.
Copies of the survey will be posted through letter boxes over the summer months.
The closing date for the survey is Friday 12 September at 5pm.

Dudley Neighbourhood Board
Dudley Council has set up a new Board to manage the establishment and operation of the Dudley Town PfN programme, as a progression from the previous Town Board. Government requires the new Board to be fit for purpose (as a community led initiative) and to focus on the three goals.
Dudley Council will be engaging with community groups during the coming months and that may lead to additional representation on the Board, as well as possible sub-groups at a level below the main Board, to help prepare and deliver the new Neighbourhood Plan.
More information on Dudley Neighbourhood Board is available on the Dudley projects page.
